Paddy Hopkirk, who had just won the Circuit of Ireland Rally for the sixth time, visted the Lucas Lamp factory in Birmingham, and as part of theemployees Quality and Reliability Year efforts he came to see how lamps wer made. In the Mini Cooper S which took him to sixth place in the 1957 Monte Carlo Rally, he drove round the factory floor and met employees. This photo shows an informal presentation by Ina Bartlett who was a Shop Steward and had been with Lucas for 23 years. The gift was a 'face' made up of Lucas lamps by the Lamp factory employees.
