Longbridge factory Rover Group 1988. Rail workers repairing the track a few days after a serious derailment which occurred on Thursday 1 December 1988 at 20.00. British Rail described the incident as 'the biggest derailment disaster in a siding we have seen in this country'. The locomotive is a British Rail Class 08 diesel shunter painted in the prewar livery of the (defunct) London Midland & Scottish Railway (LMS) who originally built these engines. The wagons hold Metros, Rover 200 Ballades and Minis.
